Logic is a tricky thing to grasp, but when it comes to those logical analogies, we’re really good at those.
They just seem to bounce off the top of our head— like this one:
December is to Cookie as Today is to National Cookie Day!
Yea, isn’t it wonderful? Today’s the day that’s dedicated to one of the most wonderful and tantalizing dessert choices on this planet. When we saw this day on the calendar, we practically cried tears of joy.
For us, cookies are just such a wonderful thing. We don’t just sell them, they hold a special place in our hearts. When we’ve had a long day at work or need something to relax, cookies are one of our favorite go to pick-me-ups that just never disappoint. Not to mention, cookies are also one of the staples of the holiday season and December. So today has just spoiled us with sheer delight.
Now based off of how we’ve celebrated past national days, we’re quite sure that you know what will follow below, a smorgasbord of cookie recipes. However, we like to switch it up once in a while and we figured that today was the day to do so.
So instead of giving you regular cookie recipes, we’ve decided to give you some rather unique ones, that you are more than welcome to try or not try at home.
We like to keep up with the trends. So for our first recipe, we found a very unique cookie recipe to make the ever so popular French Macaroon cookie.
However, this recipe has a twist. Instead of the sugary sweet filling, these cookies have ketchup in the middle (and a little bit of hot sauce too).
But though it’s an interesting flavor combination, that doesn’t mean they’re not good. And you don’t know if you’ll like something until you try it. So maybe it’s time to give your taste buds a new flavor combination to try.
Now for our second choice, we chose something for those seeking a little bit more spice than hot sauce can provide.
So if you’ve ever had a cup of Mexican Hot Cocoa, that’s a pretty close comparison to how spiced up these cookies are.
These chocolate chip cookies are made with Cayenne pepper and sriracha, which is enough spice to keep you warm on those cold and chilly nights. However, they don’t go light on the chocolate either. And with these you’ll also have something to accompany your next cup of Mexican Hot Cocoa too. So it’s kind of a win-win situation.
Lemon Pepper Cookies
Now for our third cookie pick, we found a recipe that backs away from the spice and adds in a little bit of citrusy freshness instead.
These cookies almost embody the taste of a lemon tea cookie. However the black pepper in the recipe adds a little extra kick to keep you interested. But don’t be quick to judge. By the end of the day, you may be making dozens to feed the craving.
Last but not least, we give you a cookie so unique that the only way to experience is seriously to try it.
These shortbread cookies basically incorporate all the basic tastes of one’s taste buds: sweet, salty, spicy, and sour.
And with the added walnuts, they pack an extra crunch to them that we’re sure you’ve never encountered before. So if you’re feeling adventurous today, here’s a weekend goal ripe and ready for you to accomplish.
So with all that down, have a wonderful national cookie day and an even greater weekend!
